Robert Half Management Resources is looking for an experienced Interim Finance Director to join one of our clients on an interim basis. In this highly visible leadership role, you will work closely with executive stakeholders to strengthen financial planning, improve business performance, and support operational decision-making across the organization. This opportunity is ideal for a finance leader who can quickly evaluate current processes, provide practical guidance, and deliver immediate value in a fast-moving environment.
Job Responsibility
Advise senior leaders with timely financial analysis and recommendations that inform planning, investments, and operational decisions
Direct day-to-day finance and accounting activities, including budgeting cycles, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost accounting oversight
Monitor and improve core performance measures such as cash flow, debt position, inventory levels, and sales projections
Coordinate financial planning with operational demand and inventory needs to help maintain alignment across the business
Establish, refine, and report on key performance indicators that provide visibility into financial and operational results
Support commercial finance efforts by evaluating pricing decisions, administering rebate programs, and guiding vendor-related financial matters
Partner with teams across Operations, HR, Sales, Procurement, IT, Marketing, and Legal to ensure sound financial support for business initiatives
Lead and mentor the finance team, reinforcing accountability, strong execution, and continuity throughout the engagement
Provide additional financial oversight where needed to maintain stability and support ongoing business operations during the interim period
Requirements
10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including leadership responsibility at the Finance Director level or similar
Demonstrated success managing budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting in a complex business setting
Strong experience with commercial finance activities, including pricing analysis, customer rebate structures, and vendor financial management
Proven ability to improve financial performance through stronger cash flow forecasting, inventory management, and business analysis
Track record of influencing decisions through partnership with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Hands-on leadership approach with the ability to assess priorities quickly and drive results in a dynamic environment
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required
CPA or MBA strongly preferred
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems
familiarity with large ERP platforms is highly desirable.
