Job Description

Robert Half Technology is seeking an experienced Director of Information Technology to provide strategic and operational leadership across enterprise technology, infrastructure, security, and application environments to support a client. This individual will be responsible for leading technical teams, driving technology initiatives, overseeing IT operations, and ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of critical business systems. This role requires a highly technical leader who can balance strategy with hands-on involvement. The ideal candidate will have experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing enterprise infrastructure, supporting Microsoft technologies, and driving security-focused initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and develop a team of Engineers, Developers, and IT Managers while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Provide strategic direction for enterprise infrastructure, security, and technology operations
  • Drive infrastructure stabilization, security enhancement, and modernization initiatives across the organization
  • Oversee network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and related security tools
  • Serve as a key technology partner to executive leadership, helping align IT strategy with organizational goals
  • Manage IT budgets, technology roadmaps, vendor relationships, and resource planning
  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of enterprise systems and services
  • Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity initiatives
  • Oversee system architecture, infrastructure standards, operational processes, and service delivery
  • Support enterprise application environments and integrations, including familiarity with Epic and related technologies
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across the IT organization
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical and operational issues

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 5+ years in IT leadership or management roles
  • Proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure and technology operations teams
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support
  • Deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server environments, Network technologies and Storage and virtualization platforms
  • Strong background in information security, including: Firewalls, VPN technologies, Security monitoring tools and Security best practices and governance
  • Experience managing budgets, technology roadmaps, and strategic IT initiatives
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and executive stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Experience working with or supporting Epic environments
  • Experience leading large-scale infrastructure, security, or enterprise technology initiatives
  • Background overseeing teams comprised of Engineers, Developers, and technical leadership personnel
  • Experience supporting highly regulated or complex enterprise environments
