An Interim Director, Clinical Lab is needed to lead and stabilize laboratory operations. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this leader will oversee the laboratory and phlebotomy teams. Key responsibilities include ensuring laboratory readiness for an upcoming CAP survey; overseeing blood bank, hematology, microbiology, specimen processing, and phlebotomy services; supporting quality and safety initiatives; optimizing workflows; and maintaining compliance with CAP and Joint Commission standards.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and stabilize laboratory operations
Report to the Chief Nursing Officer
Oversee the laboratory and phlebotomy teams
Ensure laboratory readiness for an upcoming CAP survey
Oversee blood bank, hematology, microbiology, specimen processing, and phlebotomy services
Support quality and safety initiatives

Maintain compliance with CAP and Joint Commission standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
Current Tennessee Medical Laboratory Scientist certification (ASCP or equivalent) required
Progressive laboratory leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting required
Strong experience with CAP accreditation and surveys
Demonstrated success leading full-service hospital laboratories
Background in quality improvement and regulatory compliance
Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs
Excellent communication skills
Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance
