Job Description:

Office Angels are supporting a wonderful local charity dedicated to improving the lives, independence, and wellbeing of older people in the LS9 community. As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring services run smoothly, supporting staff and volunteers, and helping deliver meaningful social opportunities and outreach work. You'll work closely with the CEO to maintain high‑quality, inclusive services and support with operations of the charity. You will step in to support decision‑making when they are absent.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee day‑to‑day running of the service
  • Support finance processes including invoices, reports, and tracking spend
  • Manage the office environment, utilities, and maintenance
  • Assist with funding bids, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Provide daily support and leadership to staff
  • Assist with governance, meeting admin, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate staff, volunteer, and member records
  • Support HR processes including one‑to‑ones and training
  • Lead on volunteer strategy, recruitment, and development
  • Oversee inductions, DBS checks, and supervision
  • Ensure volunteers are supported in delivering services
  • Work with staff to coordinate volunteer‑led projects
  • Oversee communications across multiple platforms
  • Support website updates, newsletters, social media, and marketing materials

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or within the charity/third sector
  • Experience leading staff and/or volunteers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confident with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisational skills and record management
