Job Description:

Management Resources is seeking an Interim Controller for a 3 month contract in Arlington. The Interim Controller will oversee financial operations, manage a skilled accounting team, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Oversee the month-end close process, coordinating with team members to finalize financial data efficiently
Supervise and guide the accounting team in areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
Analyze and address financial discrepancies, providing solutions to resolve any issues
Manage account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Support forecasting and budgeting efforts, contributing to the organization’s financial planning
Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance standards to safeguard financial integrity
Present financial reports and insights to leadership, offering recommendations for informed decision-making
Foster a collaborative and communicative work environment within the accounting team and across departments
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and streamline reporting processes

Requirements:

Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, with over 5 years experience as a Controller
Proven ability to prepare and present accurate financial statements, including month-end close processes
Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring accounting staff to achieve team goals
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including tools and functions for financial analysis
Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes and best practices
Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting techniques to support financial planning
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
