Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an interim Controller to provide critical financial audit support for a multi entity hospitality group based in West Hollywood that recently acquired by an international parent organization. Over the course of six weeks, this consultant will manage a small team of staff accountants and assist with audit preparation, historical research, financial reporting and schedule build outs, and responses to auditor requests, working closely with the Controller and Office of the CFO.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with international audit teams to compile schedules, research historical data, and address audit inquiries
Develop and reconcile audit-ready schedules for balance sheets and other accounts, including complex pre-acquisition balances
Prepare entity-level and consolidated financial statements, intercompany reconciliations, and supporting schedules for debt, equity, and leases
Conduct accounting clean-up efforts, particularly for older balances with incomplete historical documentation
Provide regular updates on audit status and deliverables while partnering with the Controller and leadership teams
Coordinate with internal teams to collect data across multiple brands, legal entities, and locations
Document processes and organize audit materials for future reference
Offer hands-on assistance to the accounting team during a high-demand audit period
Requirements:
Proven experience leading financial audits for multi-entity organizations and communicating with external auditors and leadership teams
Expertise in resolving accounting issues and researching historical balances with limited documentation
Advanced knowledge of fiscal calendars, including 4/4/5 structures and acquisition date accounting
Ability to manage high volumes of audit-related requests within tight deadlines
Self-motivated, detail oriented individual capable of working independently and quickly understanding existing processes and schedules
Proficiency in financial reporting, IFRS accounting, and audit-related tasks
Strong organizational skills to handle complex audit schedules and deliverables
