Our client in the Lower Fairfield, CT area has an opening for an Interim Controller. The Interim Controller will oversee accounting operations and compliance, drive process improvements, and provide strategic financial insights to leadership. The role offers a hybrid work schedule, with Mondays and Fridays remote, and Tuesdays through Thursdays on-site.
Job Responsibility
Manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor relationships, and maintaining internal controls
Oversee accounting processes and revenue recognition ensuring compliance with organizational standards
Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive team
Mentor and lead finance team members to foster growth and strengthen team capabilities
Identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement updated financial policies
Partner with senior leadership and finance directors to promote best practices across the organization
Support audit activities and ensure compliance with all applicable standards
Requirements
7+ years of accounting or finance experience
Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes, reconciliations, and audit support activities
Proficiency with accounting platform
Strong understanding of internal controls, financial operations, and compliance expectations
Proven ability to lead staff, collaborate across departments, and communicate effectively with leadership and external stakeholders
