Job Description:

Interim Assistant Controller position for a leading manufacturing company during a transitional period, overseeing accounting operations and ensuring financial accuracy

Job Responsibility:

Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP
Managing the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
Monitoring and analyzing manufacturing costs and inventory valuations
Collaborating with department heads to support budgeting and forecasting efforts
Supporting internal audits and acting as a point of contact for external auditors
Identifying areas for process improvements and implementing actionable solutions
Assisting with the transition to permanent financial leadership, if applicable

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or CMA certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills
Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments

Nice to have:

CPA or CMA certification
Manufacturing environment experience
