We are looking for an experienced interim Assistant Controller to join a dynamic team in Dallas, Texas on a contract basis. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of financial processes, driving process improvements, and providing analytical insights to support decision-making. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and expertise in construction accounting and financial reporting. This is a 2-3 month contract position.
Job Responsibility:
Perform complex reconciliations for accounts, projects, and intercompany transactions, ensuring precision and timely resolution
Prepare payroll accruals and allocations while adhering to both company policies and regulatory standards
Conduct comprehensive monthly bank reconciliations across various accounts
Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, utilizing flux analysis to identify and explain variances
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Support the establishment and documentation of accounting controls to ensure compliance
Collaborate with project managers and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline workflows
Provide assistance during audits, internal reporting, and special finance-related projects
Utilize advanced tools such as pivot tables to analyze financial data and generate actionable insights
Requirements:
At least 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the construction industry
Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation and audits
Strong skills in financial reporting and variance analysis
Experience with construction accounting principles and practices
Advanced ability to perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
Proficient in using Excel, including pivot tables, for data analysis
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must have large $1B+ revenue company experience

Construction industry experience is preferred
