Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager with a strong background in real estate accounting to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Dallas, Texas, this role will focus on overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting for a portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and month-end close, along with advanced skills in Yardi and Excel. This is a 3-6 month contract position.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise and review accounts payable processes for multiple properties, ensuring precision and compliance
  • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Analyze and report budget-to-actual variances across the property portfolio
  • Manage accrual entries to maintain consistency and accuracy in expense recognition
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and data integrity is maintained
  • Generate and present financial statements and management reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and reporting
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency
  • Utilize advanced Excel techniques for financial analysis and reporting
  • Leverage Yardi software to manage property-level financial data effectively

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • At least 7–10 years of accounting experience within the real estate or property management industry
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise teams in an accounting function
  • Expertise in accounts payable, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, accrual processes, and month-end close
  • Advanced proficiency with Yardi software and Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis
  • Strong analytical capabilities and exceptional organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present financial information
  • Must have Commercial Real Estate industry experience
  • Must have Yardi experience
