Our team is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist to join our healthcare operations. This role is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and supporting patient intake and billing processes. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and a customer-focused attitude.
Job Responsibility:
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations through phone, online portals, and direct contact with payers
Update and maintain patient records with accurate insurance information
Communicate coverage details to patients, providers, and internal staff
Coordinate with billing department to ensure claims are submitted correctly and timely
Resolve insurance verification issues and follow up on pending cases
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and privacy standards
Requirements:
Proven experience in insurance verification or medical billing (minimum 1 year preferred)
Familiarity with healthcare insurance plans and terminology
Strong organizational and communication skills
Customer service experience in a medical office or healthcare environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Nice to have:
Proficiency with medical office software and electronic health records (EHR)
Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements
Bilingual abilities are a plus
