Insurance Verification Specialist

• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility with carriers for medical services
• Obtain pre-authorizations or referrals as required by insurance providers
• Accurately document insurance details and update patient records in the system
• Communicate benefit information, coverage details, or out-of-pocket requirements to patients as needed
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve insurance issues and support timely patient scheduling
• Assist with claim submissions by ensuring all required information is documented and filed appropriately
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and office confidentiality standards
• Support the front office team by answering patient or carrier questions and handling related administrative tasks

• Previous experience as an insurance verification specialist or in a similar insurance-related role within a healthcare setting
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
• Proficiency in using healthcare management systems, electronic medical records, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy when verifying patient insurance benefits and documenting relevant information
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and insurance processes, including eligibility, benefits verification, and pre-authorizations
• A customer service-oriented approach with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance representatives, and clinical staff

Familiarity with specialized medical practices or working with multiple insurance carriers is a plus
