Job Responsibility:
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility with carriers for medical services
Obtain pre-authorizations or referrals as required by insurance providers
Accurately document insurance details and update patient records in the system
Communicate benefit information, coverage details, or out-of-pocket requirements to patients as needed
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve insurance issues and support timely patient scheduling
Assist with claim submissions by ensuring all required information is documented and filed appropriately
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and office confidentiality standards
Support the front office team by answering patient or carrier questions and handling related administrative tasks
Requirements:
Previous experience as an insurance verification specialist or in a similar insurance-related role within a healthcare setting
Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
Proficiency in using healthcare management systems, electronic medical records, and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy when verifying patient insurance benefits and documenting relevant information
Knowledge of basic medical terminology and insurance processes, including eligibility, benefits verification, and pre-authorizations
A customer service-oriented approach with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance representatives, and clinical staff
