Job Description:

The Insurance Manager supports the Director of Insurance in all aspects of insurance placement, coverage review, contract support, and due diligence for the Compass Group Canada program. This role is responsible for evaluating company exposure data, completing insurance carrier applications, and delivering exceptional customer service to all company operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee Canadian broker services, including placement, evidence of coverage (COI’s) etc.
  • Assist with the global insurance renewal process for all lines of coverage (casualty, property, and financial)
  • Support exposure data collection, policy binding, endorsement management, and audit
  • Maintain comprehensive schedules of insurance, premium payments etc.
  • Review insurance terms within contracts (supplier, vendor, client, landlord) to ensure compliance with corporate insurance programs and vendor requirements
  • Organize and maintain accurate electronic and hard copy files of insurance policy documentation, including proposals, binders, policies, and endorsements

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of local provincial Canadian insurance coverage and contract requirements
  • Excellent collaboration, negotiation, persuasion, and diplomacy skills for effective teamwork with internal and external clients and vendors
  • Results-oriented mindset with initiative to drive tasks to completion
  • Adaptability in managing stress, ambiguity, shifting priorities, and challenging situations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to foster open communication, listen actively, and build strong partnerships
  • Proficiency with risk management technology and leveraging such tools for improved decision-making
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate risk management or an insurance broker setting, preferably with large, complex accounts
  • In-depth understanding of technical and structural provisions of large deductible or SIR property, casualty, and financial insurance policies
