We are looking for an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join our civil litigation defense team in Hartford, Connecticut. Job Responsibility:
Manage all stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing motions
Take and defend depositions to gather and present evidence effectively
Prepare legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery responses
Represent clients in court proceedings and communicate directly with them to understand case needs
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to develop case strategies and ensure smooth case management
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to build strong defenses and case arguments
Communicate in a detail-oriented manner with opposing counsel, clients, and the court regarding case updates and proceedings
Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as required to advocate for clients
Handle civil litigation defense matters across various areas, including general liability, personal injury, construction defect, commercial trucking, and employment law
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Insurance Defense Litigation
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Connecticut
Strong analytical and writing skills
Ability to handle cases independently from initiation to settlement or trial
Proven ability to draft motions, legal memoranda, and prepare for trial independently
Nice to have:
Familiarity with employment law, construction defect, or commercial trucking law
Licensure in other states
