Previous experience as a Lagger or Industrial Insulator
Ability to work from technical drawings and measurements
Knowledge of insulation materials and cladding systems
Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work overtime and shifts where required
Ideally holding SC (Security Clearance) or BPSS clearance

Job Responsibility

Install and remove thermal insulation materials on pipes, tanks, boilers, ductwork, and vessels
Measure, cut, shape, and fit insulation materials and metal cladding
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Apply protective coverings such as aluminium, stainless steel, and other sheet metal finishes
Carry out maintenance, repairs, and replacement of insulation systems
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and site procedures
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition
Work effectively as part of a team on industrial and construction sites
Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations

High School diploma or GED
Minimum four years’ experience in all phases of industrial insulation to include installation, repair, and removal
Experience with pipe insulation, including fabrication of metal sheathing
Experience in construction and maintenance of commercial and/or industrial facilities
Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, and diagrams
Possess prior computer experience and be able and willing to learn and effectively utilize computer-based labor, inventory, and maintenance tracking applications
Possess the competencies, willingness and ability to perform the duties of position
Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica

Job Responsibility

Perform hands-on insulation tasks on maintenance and construction projects utilizing a variety of materials and tools
Install insulation on piping, walls, and other surfaces
Maintain and repair existing insulation
Remove and reinstall insulation as needed to facilitate repairs to piping and heat trace
Install temporary insulation on piping as needed until permanent insulation can be installed
Perform minor sheet metal work as required
Timely response to emergency service calls during and outside of normal working hours
Accurate and thorough documentation of hours worked, tasking performed, materials used, and processes involved
Advise immediate Supervisor of job progress and material/labor requirements
Accomplish tasking working from Job Plans, verbal information, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, documents, vendor/manufacturer manuals, and applicable specifications and codes
