The Instrument Assembler 2 is responsible for the electro-mechanical assembly of medical device instruments and sub-assemblies. This role involves assembling optical, mechanical, fluidic, and electronic components while ensuring quality standards, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibility
Perform electro-mechanical assembly by following approved work instructions and procedures
Assemble instruments, sub-assemblies, and medical device components accurately and efficiently
Conduct in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications
Complete and maintain Device History Records (DHR) and required production documentation
Read and interpret assembly instructions, work orders, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, quality personnel, and production teams to resolve assembly issues
Support new product introductions and recommend improvements to assembly methods
Collect and document production measurements and performance data
Participate in quality improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Complete timesheets and required paperwork accurately and on time
Assist in updating process and product documentation
Requirements
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with electro-mechanical assembly preferred
Experience using hand tools in assembly operations
Experience within medical device manufacturing is an advantage
Familiarity with quality-controlled production environments preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree or vocational training in electro-mechanical assembly is preferred
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks, including reaching and bending
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Willingness to be cross-trained in other production areas
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
