The Instructor supports the immediate and ongoing education needs of patients, parents, and families in the communities served by BSWH.
Job Responsibility:
Consults with the Program Coordinator for program planning, implementation and evaluation in order to meet patient, parent and community needs
Collects and assesses data and information related to education needs and other pertinent situations, including identification of trends, issues and supporting data to determine a comprehensive education program for parents, community members and nurses including virtual (on-line) and classroom
Develops and delivers/coordinates other educational program as directed (e.g., Grand Rounds, in-service) to support competence and professional growth of the community and nursing staff
Promotes and cultivates positive relationships with the hospital and the community to foster positive image and relationships with BSWH
Requirements:
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to set up online and in person classes and support groups
Technical skills and working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, virtual technology (Zoom, Teams, Webex)
Ability to teach skills and demonstrate clearly using examples or props as needed
EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
Nice to have:
Certification in childbirth education (CCCE/LCCE)
Certified Breastfeeding Counselor
Board Certified Lactation Consultant
Certification in Education
BLS
RN
Experience with prenatal/postpartum/ L&D
Childbirth Educator and ICBLC, CLC, or breastfeeding educator certificate preferred
