The School of Human Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is currently seeking a 9-month Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor to join their Gerontology Program. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate expertise, along with instructional and/or professional experience, within the field of aging. This non-tenure track position will report directly to the program chair.
Job Responsibility:
Teach courses at the undergraduate-level (candidates eligible for the rank of teaching assistant professor may also be expected to teach graduate-level courses)
Provide leadership at the local, regional, and national levels
Provide service to the program, school, college, and university
Requirements:
Master's degree in gerontology or a closely related field
OR Master's degree in any field, AND At least 15 hours of gerontology-specific graduate-level coursework completed
To be eligible for the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in gerontology or a closely related field (ABD considered with Ph.D. completion date of August 2027)
Expertise in aging, aging services, and interdisciplinary frameworks
Experience teaching and/or mentoring in a professional setting
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for collaboration and interprofessional education opportunities
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Nice to have:
Successful experience teaching at the post-secondary level
Experience working with a variety of populations in professional settings
