The School of Health Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is currently seeking a 9-month Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor to join their Food and Nutrition Program. This position will teach undergraduate courses to prepare students for impactful roles in food, nutrition, and health; contribute to the broader missions of the school and college; and is expected to support collegiality, with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting. This non-tenure track position will report directly to the program chair.
Job Responsibility:
Teach undergraduate courses in nutrition, dietetics, and public health, which may include: Introduction to Health Professions, Introduction to Public Health, Personal Wellness, Nutritional Assessment, Life Span Nutrition, etc.
Serve on committees related to program, school, and college issues and appropriate professional/industry associations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Master’s degree in human nutrition, food science, nutrition science, public health, dietetics, health sciences, or related field
Doctoral degree in human nutrition, food science, nutrition science, public health, dietetics, health sciences, or related field
Evidence of strong organizational skills
Track record of effective teaching strategies
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Nice to have:
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty and administrators
Desire and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Experience with college/university-level teaching
Professional involvement in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or state affiliate
Experience in one or more of the following areas: Registered Dietitian (RD), public health (MPH), nutritional epidemiology, medical nutrition therapy, pharmacology, or related field
