The Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training, simulator-based learning, and competency development programs to ensure Operations Group personnel possess the required knowledge, skills, and behaviors to operate and maintain LNG facilities safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in workforce capability development, knowledge transfer, and operational readiness across Operations and Maintenance teams, including National Trainees and Graduate programs, within a complex multi-venture and multi-operator environment.
Job Responsibility
Develop, customize, and deliver in-house technical training programs, simulator training, and competency-based learning solutions for Operations and Maintenance personnel
Analyze training and competency needs to design targeted classroom sessions, simulator scenarios, and troubleshooting exercises that enhance technical expertise
Deliver structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) to Operations, Maintenance staff, and Trainees/Graduates, ensuring effective transfer of technical knowledge and practical skills
Conduct simulator training using plant models, continuously enhancing simulator materials and developing realistic, customized scenarios
Conduct technical competency assessments for Operations and Maintenance staff, covering theoretical technical knowledge, practical technical skills, field and operational knowledge
Establish measurable learning objectives and performance metrics aligned with company competency standards and new project/start-up requirements
Prepare detailed training evaluation reports and review outcomes with line supervisors, identifying skill gaps and implementing individualized technical development plans
Coordinate with line supervision to implement onboarding and readiness programs that ensure personnel are fully prepared to operate and maintain assigned plants, units, and equipment
Support workforce readiness for new facilities, plant modifications, and major operational changes
Embed Process Safety principles and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture components into all technical training programs
Ensure all training activities comply with company Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Learning & Development teams to align training programs with operational needs
Coordinate periodically with contractors and third-party service providers as required to support training delivery
Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and coaching activities across the organization
Requirements
Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
Minimum 4 years of full-time, diversified Oil & Gas operations experience, including at least 2 years in a training, instructional, or competency development role
Extensive hands-on experience in Operations and/or Maintenance of Oil & Gas or LNG facilities
Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
High computer literacy, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint
