The Department of Strategic Communication in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas, invites applications for a full-time instructor position in strategic communication to begin in August 2026.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teach a variety of introductory and upper-level courses
  • Serve as instructor for the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team and the capstone Campaigns course
  • Serve as faculty support for Roxo, TCU’s student advertising and public relations agency
  • Provide students with an active, supportive learning environment
  • Advance learning through theoretically and practically significant content
  • Contribute to the inclusive excellence of our university community

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., advertising, public relations, business, strategic communication, communication, marketing, psychology)
  • College teaching experience
  • Industry or corporate experience
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate teaching
  • At least three years of relevant industry or corporate experience
  • Ability to teach a variety of introductory and upper-level courses, including, for example, three or more of the following: advertising, strategic writing and editing, sports communication, design, campaigns, agency operations, digital and new media, creative strategy, and/or other required courses in the major

Nice to have:

  • Two years of teaching experience preferred
  • Five years of industry experience preferred
  • Strong relationships and experiences with the advertising and/or PR industry are highly desirable
  • Evidence of a strong teaching record and of advising a student agency or co-curricular activity/organization at the undergraduate level is preferred
  • Knowledge of small business operations, employee management, conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, and conceptual development
