The Department of Strategic Communication in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas, invites applications for a full-time instructor position in strategic communication to begin in August 2026.
Job Responsibility:
Teach a variety of introductory and upper-level courses
Serve as instructor for the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team and the capstone Campaigns course
Serve as faculty support for Roxo, TCU’s student advertising and public relations agency
Provide students with an active, supportive learning environment
Advance learning through theoretically and practically significant content
Contribute to the inclusive excellence of our university community
Requirements:
Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., advertising, public relations, business, strategic communication, communication, marketing, psychology)
College teaching experience
Industry or corporate experience
Demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate teaching
At least three years of relevant industry or corporate experience
Ability to teach a variety of introductory and upper-level courses, including, for example, three or more of the following: advertising, strategic writing and editing, sports communication, design, campaigns, agency operations, digital and new media, creative strategy, and/or other required courses in the major
Nice to have:
Two years of teaching experience preferred
Five years of industry experience preferred
Strong relationships and experiences with the advertising and/or PR industry are highly desirable
Evidence of a strong teaching record and of advising a student agency or co-curricular activity/organization at the undergraduate level is preferred
Knowledge of small business operations, employee management, conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, and conceptual development
