Keyano College’s Health & Human Services - Paramedicine Department is currently seeking experienced Paramedicine Instructors to teach in our Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) and Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Diploma Programs with an anticipatory start date in August 2026. This role is responsible for all aspects of the teaching portfolio including course preparation, online/face-to-face instruction, summative and formative assessments and evaluation of students, and supervision of students in clinical placements. In addition, the instructor will assist the Program Chair and/or the Associate Dean with various components of the program including preparation for accreditation and reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Instruct courses in the Primary Care Paramedic and Advanced Care Paramedic programs
Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
Foster student development to meet professional practice expectations
Perform field supervision and practicum support
Engage with community partners and agencies
Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter
Maintain a working knowledge of professional practice standards, code of ethics, legislation, regulations and practice guidelines
Participate in program and curriculum development
Maintain and manage paramedicine supplies, equipment, simulators, and lab organization/cleanliness
Contribute to peer mentorship, teamwork, and orientation of sessional/contract instructors
Requirements:
Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma and relevant Bachelors degree required
Minimum three years direct ACP field experience
Minimum three years teaching experience in a post-secondary setting is preferred
Current, unrestricted registration as an Advanced Care Paramedic with the Alberta College of Paramedics, and a member in good standing
Solid knowledge of the Alberta College of Paramedics professional practice standards
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Able to lead, coach, and problem solve in educational or practicum settings
Experience with high-fidelity simulation equipment and running skills scenarios or interprofessional education scenarios is preferred
A dependable and resourceful team member with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities
Nice to have:
Preference will be given to applicants with additional BLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, and NRP certification/instructor status
Minimum three years teaching experience in a post-secondary setting is preferred
Experience with high-fidelity simulation equipment and running skills scenarios or interprofessional education scenarios is preferred
