The Kansas State University Department of Modern Languages seeks a dynamic individual for a part-time, non-tenure-track position as Instructor of Italian. The successful candidate will teach one (1) two-credit course titled ITAL 105: Italian for Travelers in Fall 2026. The course supports students who plan to participate in Kansas State University’s study abroad programs in Orvieto, Italy, as well as other participants who plan to travel in Italy. We seek candidates with experience or promise in teaching Italian at a beginning level and experience living or traveling in Italy. There is a possibility of renewal and potential opportunities for Summer teaching. ITAL 105 meets once per week in the evenings. In-person teaching on the Manhattan campus is required.

Requirements:
Native, near-native, or advanced proficiency in Italian
Experience living or traveling in Italy
Ability to teach a 2-credit course titled Italian for Travelers, geared primarily to students who plan to study abroad in Italy
At least 18-credit hours at the Master’s level in a relevant field (Italian, language pedagogy, second language acquisition, linguistics, etc.)
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
Nice to have:
Master’s or more advanced degree in a relevant field (Italian, language pedagogy, second language acquisition, linguistics, etc.)
Experience teaching Italian language and culture in a post-secondary setting
