Keyano College’s School of Health and Human Services is currently seeking a Contract Instructor for the Social Work Diploma program for the Fall 2026 semester (August 26 – December 16, 2026). The program is designed to prepare graduates to practice with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations in rural and urban settings. Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.
Job Responsibility
Instruct courses across the Social Work Diploma program curriculum
Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
Perform field supervision and practicum support
Engage with community stakeholders
Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter
Requirements
Minimum Master in Social Work (MSW) is required
Must be registered (or be eligible for registration), and a member in good standing, with the ACSW (Alberta College of Social Workers) and hold an active RSW in Alberta
Two or more years of post MSW experience in the Social Work field
Minimum of five years of experience working as a registered social worker
Nice to have
Teaching experience at a post-secondary level
Demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for student success
Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills
Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment
