Contract Instructor for the Social Work Diploma program for the Winter 2026 semester (January 8 – April 28, 2026). The program is designed to prepare graduates to practice with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations in rural and urban settings.
Job Responsibility:
Instruct courses across the Social Work Diploma program curriculum
Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
Perform field supervision and practicum support
Engage with community stakeholders
Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter
Requirements:
Minimum Master in Social Work (MSW) is required
Must be registered (or be eligible for registration), and a member in good standing, with the ACSW (Alberta College of Social Workers) and hold an active RSW in Alberta
Two or more years of post MSW experience in the Social Work field
Minimum of five years of experience working as a registered social worker
Demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for student success
Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills
Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment
Preference will be given to candidates possessing teaching experience at a post-secondary level, though we encourage candidates with related professional and or educational requirements to apply
If your education was received internationally, upon hire we will require you to provide an international education assessment completed through WES, IQAS or one of the other IRCC approved designated organization
