Job Description

Contract Instructor for the Social Work Diploma program for the Winter 2026 semester (January 8 – April 28, 2026). The program is designed to prepare graduates to practice with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations in rural and urban settings.

Job Responsibility

  • Instruct courses across the Social Work Diploma program curriculum
  • Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
  • Perform field supervision and practicum support
  • Engage with community stakeholders
  • Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter

Requirements

  • Minimum Master in Social Work (MSW) is required
  • Must be registered (or be eligible for registration), and a member in good standing, with the ACSW (Alberta College of Social Workers) and hold an active RSW in Alberta
  • Two or more years of post MSW experience in the Social Work field
  • Minimum of five years of experience working as a registered social worker
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for student success
  • Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment
  • Preference will be given to candidates possessing teaching experience at a post-secondary level, though we encourage candidates with related professional and or educational requirements to apply
  • If your education was received internationally, upon hire we will require you to provide an international education assessment completed through WES, IQAS or one of the other IRCC approved designated organization
