Job Description

Contract Instructors for the Early Learning and Child Care program for the Winter 2026 semester (January 8 – April 28, 2026). This program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to pursue professional, supervisory positions in childcare. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the Early Learning and Child Care program but may also teach across the School of Health and Human Services.

Job Responsibility

  • Instruct courses across the Early Learning and Child Care program curriculum
  • Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
  • Perform field supervision and practicum support
  • Engage with community stakeholders
  • Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in early childhood education plus Government of Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for student success
  • Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills

Nice to have

  • Masters in Early Childhood Education is preferred
  • Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment
