Instructor, Child & Youth Care

• Instruct courses, primarily in the Child and Youth Care diploma
• Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
• Perform field supervision and practicum support
• Engage with community stakeholders
• Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter
• Participate in program and curriculum development

• Master’s degree in Child and Youth Care or related field is preferred (counselling, psychology, family social science, justice, or social work)
• Minimum Bachelors Degree in Child and Youth Care is required
• Extensive experience working with at-risk and vulnerable children and youth
• Demonstrated excellence in planning, and organizational skills
• Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
• A thorough knowledge and understanding about the specific role of Child and Youth Care practitioners in the support of Indigenous, newcomer and refugee children, youth, and families
• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

• Previous instructional experience in adult education or post secondary learning environments
• Experience with field education
