Job Description:

Full-Time, Faculty, 9-month Academic position – Accounting, Business, Management, and Marketing Faculty. This is a Full-Time, due process, benefited Faculty position beginning Fall 2026. The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. The faculty member is also responsible for professional development and service to the college. This teaching position will include Accounting and Business, and the faculty member may also teach courses in Management and Marketing, depending on scheduling needs.

  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments of learning for students
  • Provide effective and high-quality instruction of the subject being taught

  • Provide a diverse array of learning activities
  • Use assessment data to improve instruction and learning
  • Develop and refine department curriculum
  • Adopt new teaching methodologies
  • Maintain office hours, turn in grades on time, and produce assigned classes
  • Submits course syllabi and other required documents on time
  • Manages the classroom facility
  • Keeps accurate attendance and grade records
  • Meets other professional obligations
  • Scholarly & Creative Activities (Professional Development) & Service to the College
  • Provide competent advising to students
  • Fulfill College service requirements
  • Participate in institutional and departmental recruitment and retention activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or another related field
  • plus, two (2) years (at least 4,000 hours) of related work experience
  • Experience teaching business-related courses
  • Computer literacy and the ability to use computer technology in classroom/lab instruction
  • A willingness to take classes in teaching methods, curriculum development, computer applications, or other coursework deemed necessary by the Department Chair, Academic Dean, or Program Director
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • Shall hold or qualify for a full-time, post-secondary vocational credential in Business Technology issued by Aims Community College CTE Office. This will require at least two (2) years (4,000 hours) of approved experience in business, marketing, management, or accounting.

Nice to have:

  • Master's Degree or higher in Business (Master of Business Administration), Accounting, or a related field
  • plus, four (4) years (8,000 or more hours) of work experience or an equivalent of work and teaching experience
  • Experience teaching and supporting traditionally underserved student populations
  • Demonstrated aptitude for developing course content and teaching in varied modalities: online, synchronous remote, traditional face-to-face, and blended (hybrid)
  • Experience in developing curriculum
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent human relations skills
  • Post-secondary business teaching experience
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of emerging business trends
  • Ability to teach using methodologies that support a student-centered learning environment.
