Job Description

We are seeking a Moodle Developer with current, hands on Moodle experience, specifically focused on theme and plugin development, to support the launch of a new Learning Management System (LMS). This is a development focused role, working closely with the internal team to build, customize, and test the LMS during its initial build phase.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in the customization and development of Moodle plugins and themes
  • Support the build of the LMS home page and related subpages
  • Configure, add, and test Moodle plugins to meet launch requirements
  • Work within the Moodle platform to support page configuration, layout, and functionality
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members to implement updates and refinements during the build phase

Requirements

  • Current, hands on experience with Moodle (required)
  • Experience with: Moodle themes, Moodle plugins, Moodle page configuration and customization
  • Strong understanding of Moodle on the development side, not just administrative use
  • Ability to support development tasks independently while collaborating with a broader team

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design within higher education or a similar learning-focused environment
  • Proficiency with Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate for developing digital learning content
  • Strong understanding of instructional systems design methodologies and adult learning principles
  • Experience creating instructional materials for online, hybrid, or technology-enabled courses
  • Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, faculty, and cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with Moodle or comparable learning management systems
  • Strong written communication, organization, and project coordination skills
