We are seeking an experienced Institutional Rates Sales professional to join our Rates Sales team in Shanghai. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, developing, and maintaining client relationships with focus on Chinese institutions. This role requires a understanding of fixed income markets, macroeconomics, and financial derivatives, coupled with strong sales and client management skills. The ideal candidate will come with strong, established relationships and be ready to hit the ground running to drive revenue growth by identifying client needs and delivering the full suite of interest rates products to our institutional clients.
Job Responsibility
Identify and target new client opportunities, on-boarding and prospecting key clients to expand the China franchise
Daily execution of full suite of China rates flow products including cash bonds, swaps and repos
Drive revenue growth by identifying and closing revenue gaps and capitalizing on new opportunities
Partner with various product teams to identify upsell and cross sell opportunities
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of global and regional macroeconomic trends, central bank policies, and their impact on interest rate markets
Provide clients with insightful market commentary, trade ideas, and risk analysis
Facilitate efficient and accurate execution of client trades, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements
Work collaboratively with regional and global sales teams, traders, strategists, and other product specialists to deliver a seamless client experience
Share market intelligence and client feedback to enhance overall team performance and product offering
Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions
Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field
1-3 years of sales experience at a financial services organization, preferably in Institutional Rates Sales or a related fixed income role
essential experience in a client-facing role working with institutional clients, with a focus on Banks and real money
extensive knowledge of interest rate markets, macroeconomic drivers, and derivative products (swaps, options, futures)
proven track record of strong sales performance, client acquisition, and relationship management
