Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking multiple Inspectors Test and Evaluation B (job code: 56108-029) to join our team in Everett, WA. Inspectors in this position observe and verify functional tests of developmental test parts/assemblies, flight control test systems and fatigue tests of aircraft assemblies.
Job Responsibility:
Inspect tooling and test fixtures necessary to perform tests
Inspect airplane structures both internally and externally to the airplane
Perform in-process, dimensional, fatigue and load test inspections on wind tunnel models, sheet metal, machined parts, details, assemblies and full scale airplanes for conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, documents, quality standards, and procedures
Receive/obtain developmental/test, production parts and assemblies with appropriate work authorization per required procedures
Verify part number, serial number, and that the quantity matches work authorization
Obtain appropriate drawings, specification documents and/or sketches, using computing systems to retrieve information, as required if drawings, sketches, and/or documents are not with work order
Process parts for lab, if required by plan and engineering
Verify material being issued to the job for developmental/test use (e.g., quantity, temper, thickness) is per work order, vendor documents, drawing, and BAC specifications, as required
Operate a 3D measurement system to establish positions for installation of hardware on test stands, tooling, developmental/production assemblies, as required
Operate precision measuring instruments, touch and non-touch to inspect/verify close tolerance developmental, model, flight test, production parts, per engineer work book, drawings, sketches, BAC specifications, as required
Perform in-process inspections as required. Document of the required information
Inspect/verify and/or witness models, supplier products, tools and test apparatus to ensure design, configuration and instrumentation, were installed and certified correctly per engineering documents, drawings, and test documents, as required
Inspect, verify, and/or witness material, parts, tooling and test structures for proper design, configuration, installation, and certifications for test functions
Conduct at various sites per engineering documents, workbooks, drawings, and test documents, as required
Testing is required at remote sites
Inspect and verify all systems are ready for tests
Witness or verify operational/functional test of systems and components, per engineering requirements and test procedures, as required
Perform visual/dimensional weld inspection, as required
Inspect electrical bundles ensuring part numbers are at proper locations and are completed per drawings and BAC specifications, as required
Perform Federal Aviation and Administration (FAA) conformity inspections
Prepare package for FAA acceptance and accept when complete
Indicate QA acceptance on the appropriate paperwork or on-line and process as required per the quality procedures
Identify and document non-conformance items, as required
Record results and process non-conformance items, per Quality Assurance (QA) procedures
Route parts/assemblies with appropriate information to the Material Review Segregation Areas [MRSA] and to other areas as required
Process non-conforming parts/assemblies per Material Review Board disposition on non-conformance records consistent with the Quality Operating procedures
Interface with other organizations to provide clarification and/or additional information
Maintain personal and tool certifications, as required
Handle, use and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner
Work with others as part of a team including giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in completion of tasks, provide on-the-job-training to others
Requirements:
3+ years’ experience as a Quality Inspector
Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday
stand 6-8 hours per day
climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day
climb ladders
bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day
squat and kneel
Ability to complete Fall Protection Training
Must meet Export Control compliance requirements (a 'US Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required)
This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement
