As an Inspector of Works (Mechanical) at Aurecon, will be responsible for overseeing the installation and quality assurance of mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems in construction projects, working closely with Resident Engineer (RE). Ensure that all work complies with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The role is critical in identifying and resolving issues promptly to maintain project timelines and safety standards.
Job Responsibility:
Site Supervision: Conduct regular inspections of M&E system installations, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and local regulations
Quality Assurance: Review method statements, material submissions, shop drawings, and as-built drawings, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality standards
Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, including contractors, engineers, and project managers, to coordinate M&E work and address any technical issues that arise
Technical Guidance: Respond to technical queries and requests for information from contractors, providing informed guidance and solutions for any M&E concerns
Testing and Commissioning: Participate in factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, and overall testing and commissioning procedures for M&E systems to ensure functionality and safety
Safety Compliance: Promote safety awareness on site and ensure that all M&E work practices comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of installed M&E systems and troubleshoot any operational issues effectively
Reporting: Prepare and maintain inspection reports, project documentation, and records, reporting findings and concerns to project management and relevant stakeholder
Documentation: Provide signature and/or IOW endorsement on approved M&E As-Built Drawings submitted by the contractors after the site verification
Requirements:
A diploma in Mechanical Engineering and registration as an Inspector of Works with BEM
At least 5 years of experience in mechanical supervision, particularly in industrial or institutional developments
Good knowledge of mechanical systems, data centre infrastructure, and local construction practices
