A reputable property developer known for its high-rise and mixed-use developments is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works (IOW) to join their project team. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment focused on quality and timely project delivery. The successful candidate will serve as the Senior Site Representative, overseeing all on-site Civil & Structural (C&S) activities to ensure construction meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.
Job Responsibility:
Quality & Compliance Oversight: Serve as the on-site guardian of quality. Conduct daily inspections of C&S works (reinforcement, formwork, concrete, etc.) to ensure strict adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and local codes
Site Execution & Assurance: Verify construction methods, materials, and workmanship. Proactively identify, report, and manage the resolution of non-conformance issues (NCRs) and defective work
Coordination & Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact on site. Coordinate seamlessly with consultants and contractors to resolve technical challenges, review submissions (shop drawings, methods), and manage Inspection Requests (RFIs)
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of site progress, inspection results, and technical documentation. Prepare accurate daily and periodic reports for the Project Management team
Safety Adherence: Ensure all C&S activities comply with stringent Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and protocols
Requirements:
A Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in direct site supervision and inspection
Strong, demonstrated understanding of Civil & Structural (C&S) construction methods, materials, quality standards, and industry best practices
Working knowledge of relevant local building codes and authority submission requirements
Proven ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications
