Job Description

Are you a technically minded professional who thrives on solving complex problems and building strong customer relationships? We are seeking an autonomous, technically sharp Inside Sales Representative to join our team in Sudbury. In this role, you will not just be taking orders—you will act as a vital technical resource, providing comprehensive engineering consultation and collaboration directly to our clients. You will manage an assigned portfolio of customers, working closely with Outside Sales Representatives and reporting directly to the Branch Manager to drive regional growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Autonomously assess customer needs and provide first-class technical and commercial support
  • Prepare accurate technical quotations for conventional products and rigorously follow up on quotes delegated by Outside Sales Reps
  • Serve as the primary internal contact for an assigned clientele, building deep relationships to understand their unique industrial needs
  • Source and generate purchase orders for non-stock conventional products or special supplier-priced items
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer records and pipeline data utilizing Zoho CRM
  • Keep up-to-date on our expanding portfolio of industrial automation products and services

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience is preferred (junior candidates are welcome to apply)
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar industrial/sales environment is an asset
  • Experience in sales, instrument selection, or industrial automation applications
  • Proficiency with Zoho CRM (or a similar CRM system) and the Microsoft Office suite
  • High level of autonomy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a variable workload
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a strong desire to serve customers
  • College Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Degree/Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Degree/Diploma in Instrumentation Technician programs
  • Alternatively: College degree in Building Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Requires knowledge of competitive landscape in the market and the ability to make sales decisions based on that information.
  • Responsible for on-going Sales Support activities for the Order to Invoice process. Owns the customer interface for backend Quality processes: corrective actions, Field Quality Reports. Owns & Maintains Perfect Order Index (POI) and Inventory integrity to minimize write offs/bill backs. Owns the customer interface for important Credit & Financial Information as well as coordination of all available resources and support functions.
  • As owner of the overall customer Quote to Order sales objectives, set strategy for the quote process, coordinate resources and processing of customer quotations (Quote Center, Quote Cover Sheet, PM Views, Management, FSR, Suppliers, Value Add, and SSG), validate EOL and item class change (NCNR), negotiate pricing and Quote mark up (owns strategy and application) and notify customer of all/any price increases.
