Robert Half is partnering with a growing construction company seeking a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative with prior construction industry experience. This role is responsible for managing inbound sales inquiries, developing customer relationships, preparing quotes, and supporting the outside sales and operations teams to drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, understands construction products or services, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where responsiveness, accuracy, and customer service are key.
Job Responsibility:
Handle inbound sales inquiries via phone and email, providing product/service information, pricing, and availability
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers in the construction industry
Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, proposals, and follow-up communications to close sales opportunities
Track and manage sales leads, opportunities, and customer interactions within CRM systems
Follow up with customers on quotes, bids, and pending orders to drive conversion and revenue growth
Collaborate with operations, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate pricing, order fulfillment, and delivery timelines
Provide customers with order status updates, product availability, and scheduling information as needed
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities based on customer needs and project requirements
Support outside sales representatives by coordinating customer communication and maintaining pipeline visibility
Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and order issues in a timely and professional manner
Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer accounts, and order details
Stay informed on construction materials, products, services, and market trends to better support customers
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in Inside Sales, Sales Support, Customer Service, or Account Management within the construction industry (required)
Strong understanding of construction products, services, or project-based workflows
Experience managing customer relationships and sales pipelines in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to handle high-volume inbound calls and email communication
Experience preparing quotes, proposals, or bids preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms a plus)
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Self-motivated with the ability to meet sales targets and deadlines
Nice to have:
