This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, improving gross margin performance, and strengthening customer retention through leadership and development of the inside sales team. The Sales Manager will oversee daily sales execution, manage key performance indicators, and ensure alignment with strategic growth initiatives. This position plays a critical role in expanding market share, improving profitability, and developing high-performing sales professionals within a fast-paced distribution environment.
Job Responsibility:
Lead, coach, and develop inside sales representatives to achieve monthly and annual revenue and gross margin targets
Monitor and manage key sales KPIs including call activity, quote volume, close rate, average order size, and customer retention
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide structured coaching to improve productivity and effectiveness
Implement performance improvement plans when necessary and complete annual employee evaluations
Drive sales growth initiatives to increase market share across assigned territories and customer segments
Maintain pricing discipline and oversee discount approval processes to protect gross margin
Collaborate with senior leadership on sales forecasting and budgeting initiatives
Recruit, hire, and onboard high-performing inside sales professionals
Develop and deliver ongoing sales training focused on prospecting, account management, and closing techniques
Foster a competitive, energetic team culture focused on measurable results and continuous improvement
Partner with purchasing, operations, marketing, and warehouse teams to optimize service levels and customer satisfaction
Ensure CRM compliance and maintain accurate pipeline reporting and sales analytics
Maintain knowledge of company SOPs, product offerings, pricing structures, and technology platforms
Participate in strategic planning initiatives and profit improvement programs
Requirements:
3–5 years of sales leadership experience within a B2B or distribution environment preferred
Proven ability to achieve and exceed revenue and gross margin targets
Experience managing sales KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics
Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
Experience working with CRM systems and sales analytics tools
Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing sales teams
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or 5+ years of relevant sales and leadership experience
