The COACH – Community and Opportunities at Children’s Hospital – internship program mission is to create a pathway for emerging healthcare professionals, offering hands-on experience, structured development, and dedicated mentorship. The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 8-Friday, August 14, 2026. In addition to on-the-job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours/week.
Job Responsibility:
Engage patients in approved, supervised activities
Support staff in maintaining a calm, therapeutic environment
Complete observation or safety check documentation
Attend supervision meetings, huddles, or educational sessions as assigned
Attend a 2-day program orientation and onboarding
Participate in virtual and in-person workshops and activities
Requirements:
Undergraduate college student in good academic standing
Enrolled in a two-or four-year program for Fall 2026
Interested in working in healthcare
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with patients and families
Demonstrate respect for patients and families
Accept feedback openly and apply guidance from supervisors
Engage youth in a developmentally appropriate manner
Basic understanding of child and adolescent development
