Job Responsibility

  • Developing the Innovation Funnel: Seek to find new trends and gaps in the industrial automation industry
  • Running idea generation workshops
  • Conduct research within the organization and the automation industry, analyze the findings, and generate insights to identify new approaches
  • Determine the requirements and scope of rapid prototypes to advance innovation ideas and opportunities
  • Work with finance and the innovation execution team to prepare the justifications for innovation development spend
  • Work directly with idea owners to help develop and present those ideas to the organization for approval
  • Initial rapid prototyping of innovation ideas
  • Work with Patent Agents to design to develop IP protection and patents
  • Commercialization of Innovations: Developing recommendations and processes for the implementation of new innovation solutions within projects or products
  • Assist in measuring the impact of the innovation solutions
  • Determining gaps in innovation adoption and determining the methods to address adoption issues and gaps
  • Partnerships: Engage customers to understand their innovation roadmaps, identifying opportunities for joint development
  • Facilitating the development of new partnerships
  • General: Ensure that all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
  • Adheres to all health and safety rules and procedures

Requirements

  • Working towards a post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in electrical, mechatronics, mechanical or controls engineering or Science or Life Sciences
  • Project management and organizational skills
