If you have a sharp eye for quality, a talent for troubleshooting, and extensive experience setting up and operating injection molding machinery, we want to hear from you! Position Highlights: Straight Afternoon Shift (2:30PM - 10:30PM) or Midnight shift (10:30PM-6:30AM) available. Rate of pay will be based on your experience and skill set plus shift premiums. Located in the Durham Region.
Job Responsibility
Setting up, operating, and maintaining injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to produce high-quality thermoplastic products
Installing molds (both hot and cold runner) into injection molding machines
Setting up cooling, mold opening, and ejection systems, and initiating the startup process (material drying and system heating)
Setting and adjusting machine controls to regulate molding temperature, plastic volume, pressure, and cycle times based on plastic characteristics and procedures
Conducting multiple thorough inspections on first-off pieces, maintaining regular quality checks during machine operation, and completing documentation, quality logs, and reports
Performing scheduled minor preventative maintenance on machines
Performing minor maintenance/assembly on injection molds
Troubleshooting/repairing minor equipment issues as they arise
Adhering strictly to all workplace safety procedures and completing other production-related duties as directed
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of hands-on experience in setting up injection molding machines and processing
Strong understanding of auxiliary equipment, such as material dryers and cooling systems
Excellent troubleshooting abilities, strong attention to detail, and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement initiatives
Experience driving reach lift trucks
Ability to multitask, manage daily work schedules, and operate machinery efficiently to produce accurate parts
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals
Ability to complete routine computer data entry and queries
What we offer
$23-25 per hour to start plus shift premiums
