We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Manager to support a large education-focused organization in the San Antonio area. This position is fully onsite and offered on a temp-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate is a strong technical generalist who can operate at both a strategic and tactical level while supporting a diverse end-user environment.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver Level II and Level III support for systems, servers, and end-user workstations
Oversee and respond to alerts from endpoint protection and security platforms
Monitor and maintain on-prem and cloud-based server environments, ensuring availability and performance
Administer and support Google Workspace environments for staff and students
Support application lifecycle activities including deployment, updates, integrations, and license management
Participate in planning and execution of district-wide systems integrations and infrastructure initiatives
Manage and maintain mobile device management (MDM) for organization-owned devices
Support filtering and content control systems for student devices, both on-site and remote
Maintain and support backup and disaster recovery solutions and related hardware
Assist with system security reviews, audits, and investigative efforts
Configure, deploy, and maintain camera servers and surveillance services
Maintain Active Directory, file shares, and system filtering protocols
Create, update, and deploy system images across environments
Test and evaluate new hardware, software, and support tools prior to rollout
Assist with computer lab builds, refreshes, and upgrade projects
Support student online testing initiatives, including readiness assessments
Deploy, manage, and maintain on-site testing cache servers
Develop and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures
Coordinate with third-party vendors for system access, troubleshooting, and issue resolution (remote and onsite)
Assist with vendor scope-of-work definition and technical validation
Provide end-user support and issue resolution via email, phone, and other electronic communication channels
Requirements:
Windows and macOS environments
Windows Server (2012–2019)
Active Directory administration
Cloud and on-prem infrastructure support
Moderate networking knowledge (routing, switching, and basic troubleshooting)
Aruba networking equipment
Routers, switches, and firewall technologies
Firewall platforms such as Palo Alto or Fortinet (configuration or programming experience is a plus)
Endpoint and internet security tools
Command-line fundamentals across Windows, Linux, and Unix systems
Standard productivity and internet-based software platforms
