Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Support the configuration and monitoring of security solutions, with a focus on Fortinet, CheckPoint and Cisco technologies
  • Participate in implementing cybersecurity best practices, including patching, vulnerability management, and access control
  • Contribute to infrastructure documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity for operational processes
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on projects involving network upgrades, security enhancements, and system migrations
  • Monitor system performance and respond to alerts, escalating issues as needed
  • Develop skills in automation and scripting to streamline routine tasks and improve efficiency

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
  • Familiarity with firewall technologies, preferably Fortinet, CheckPoint and Cisco
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and common threat mitigation techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance at the required level

Nice to have:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or Cisco CCNA
  • Exposure to Windows and Linux server environments
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and basic scripting
