Job Description:

Our client is a prominent, semi-government institution. Operating in a highly regulated and project-driven environment, they manage complex infrastructure that supports essential services. This position provides a stable yet dynamic platform for an engineer who thrives on large-scale system upgrades and maintaining high-availability architecture.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the technical execution of a large-scale data centre relocation, including architecture planning, migration strategy, and system stabilisation
  • Administer and optimise Unix/Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu), virtualisation platforms, and core network infrastructure
  • Lead system cut-over activities with a focus on minimising downtime through rigorous testing and post-implementation reviews
  • Manage switches, routers, firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet), and VPNs to ensure compliance with security best practices
  • Drive efficiency using scripting languages such as Bash or Python and configuration management tools
  • Produce migration runbooks, system diagrams, risk assessments, and rollback plans
  • Maintain high availability through proactive monitoring, patching, and capacity planning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure administration (Server & Network)
  • Proven experience in physical data centre relocation or large-scale hardware refreshes and OS migrations
  • In-depth expertise in Unix/Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu) design and virtualisation technologies
  • Solid experience in enterprise network deployment and security using Cisco or Fortinet
  • Strong understanding of data centre architecture, including power/cooling, rack layouts, and structured cabling
  • Professional credentials such as RHCSA/RHCE, CCNA/CCNP, or Fortinet NSE are highly preferred
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
