The role involves managing a hybrid platform hosted in a colocation facility and multiple cloud providers, with responsibilities spanning hardware, software, and third-party services to ensure a scalable and secure environment.
Job Responsibility:
On premises and cloud server and service administration, including designing, building, monitoring, and securing Linux virtual servers and containers
Managing NetApp storage tier and other file servers
Using tools like Ansible Automation Platform to automate routine activities
Working with development and product teams to ensure infrastructure scales and meets business needs
Using monitoring and analysis tools (Datadog, Wazuh IDS) to collect and analyze system performance metrics
Application and oversight of information security controls across operating environments
Understanding and assisting in management of network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, third-party services like Cloudflare)
Building and supporting resilient and scalable systems for high availability
Managing environmental and architectural changes to maximize implementation pace without compromising security
Identifying technological and procedural impediments and devising solutions
Coherently communicating technical topics to diverse audiences
Administration of applications and services for internal and external users
Balancing 'keep things running' with time for system enhancements and new initiatives
Mentoring or training other team members and colleagues
Participating in on-call rotations
Troubleshooting and resolving production issues (hardware/software/applications)
Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
Sound decision-making and ability to work autonomously and with a team
3-5 years’ experience in Linux systems administration, especially from a DevOps-oriented background
Experience with common applications and protocols (Apache, MySQL, NFS, Squid, Redis, Docker, DHCP, SSH, DNS, LDAP, SMTP, etc.)
Software development and scripting experience, preferably using common interpreted languages (PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.)
Knack for problem solving, asking the right questions and gathering the right data
Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible preferred)
