Job Description

This role starts as a 4 week contract ideally in the 1st week of June, extending month on month with a genuine pathway to permanent conversion for the right person who fits the team, hits the ground running, and start the permanent role when the time is right. I'm looking for an infrastructure engineer who started their career with hands-on on-prem work, servers, VMware, Citrix, storage and has evolved over the last 3-5 years into hybrid cloud. You would have picked up Intune and Autopilot either through a workplace modern endpoint project or through deliberate upskilling. You will be comfortable on both sides of the VPN tunnel. And when you see something being done manually, it bothers you enough to fix it! You’ll be the 4th engineer in a small infrastructure team working across a hybrid environment that spans on-premises infrastructure and multi-cloud.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting and improving on-premises infrastructure, virtualisation, storage, hypervisors
  • Working across VMware, Citrix and Windows 365 environments
  • Contributing to Azure, AWS & GCP cloud workloads alongside the existing team
  • Identifying and eliminating manual processes
  • Automation and scripting mindset essential
  • Strengthening security controls and infrastructure reliability

Requirements

  • Available to start in June 2026
  • Solid hands-on infrastructure engineering experience across on-prem and cloud hybrid environments
  • Cloud migration experience
  • Non-negotiable: Azure, AWS, and/or GCP, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware, Intune/Autopilot
  • Nice to have: Citrix, Virtualisation, IaC, Scripting, Oracle or Linux environment
  • A genuine drive to automate — if you’re doing something manually twice, you fix it

Nice to have

  • Citrix
  • Virtualisation
  • IaC
  • Scripting
  • Oracle or Linux environment
