Job Description

Meta is seeking an experienced and outgoing individual to join our Economic Policy team to support our strategic engagement on policy issues that impact our data center infrastructure operations, site selection efforts, and energy goals. You must have direct experience developing and successfully implementing policy strategies on energy issues at the State and/or Federal levels. This role will partner closely with regional policy teams and business teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the execution of cross-functional policy initiatives related to policy proposals focused on data center infrastructure, energy, and economic development, site selection and environmental policy issues that span across multiple teams and organizations
  • Help identify and track energy, and data center infrastructure related legislation across US States and US Federal, including managing review processes and consolidating feedback across cross-functional partners
  • Work in partnership with internal cross-functional partners, trade associations, external consultants to identify emerging policy issues that relate to data centers infrastructure and assess the potential impact to Meta data center operations
  • Support policy and engagement strategies that are informed by business needs, research, and the public opinion climate
  • Facilitate alignment across internal teams and external partners, including trade associations
  • Prepare summary documentation and memos on infrastructure and energy related policies and issues to support external engagement and drive internal alignment
  • Support other relevant economic policy issues, such as tax and trade policy, as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, economic development, or energy related fields
  • 7+ years of experience in energy (or related) policy with a focus on using technical policy expertise to support business needs
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large cross-functional groups, including technical teams

Nice to have

7+ years experience in managing complex policy related initiatives related to data center, economic development, utility, manufacturing or other large infrastructure projects
