Job Description

You will join a team of experienced system and software engineers who are responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and automating our load balancers, DNS, proxies and other critical infrastructure services while focusing on reducing engineering operational toil using automation, increasing reliability and aligning infrastructure decisions with the company objectives. You will work mainly on our Control Plane project, which is responsible for abstracting part of our critical infrastructure and offering it as a service for the rest of the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, implement and maintain the applications that automate and power our self-service platform
  • Optimize how we deliver load balancing infrastructure as a service, ensuring our services remain highly available, reliable and responsive even during traffic spikes
  • Automate time-consuming manual tasks into efficient, one-click operations, freeing up your team to focus on strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with product managers and other developers to understand upcoming features, translating their needs into robust solutions that are secure and scalable
  • Work cross-functionally with SRE teams and other infrastructure teams within Platform Engineering
  • Participate in architectural discussions, leveraging your experience to influence key decisions that align our infrastructure with long-term business goals
  • Drive innovation and improvement of our Adyen Platform

Requirements

  • You have 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • You are fluent in Golang and have some Python knowledge
  • You have worked within platform/infrastructure teams
  • You are proficient with Linux
  • You have a good understanding of distributed systems
  • You have demonstrable experience in driving and delivering complex projects
  • You have great communication skills
  • You have a future-oriented mindset
  • Great understanding of Software Engineering practices and interest in Infrastructure
  • Good understanding of system and service observability
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, layers and related protocols such as TCP/IP and TLS
  • Experience in system design
  • Experience in building and maintaining large distributed systems
  • Ability to plan, drive and deliver complex projects
  • Experience with docker and kubernetes

Nice to have

  • Experience with Puppet, Ansible or Terraform
  • Experience with React/NodeJS
  • Experience with open source load balancing technologies such as HAProxy
