Job Description

As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will focus on automating on-prem infrastructure and system-related processes using Ansible and Python. Your primary goal is to eliminate manual, repetitive tasks, standardize infrastructure operations, and improve reliability and efficiency across engineering environments. By integrating automation solutions with the Common Data Backbone, you will enable consistent configuration, streamlined data management, and scalable infrastructure operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks for on-prem infrastructure
  • Automate system configuration, provisioning, and maintenance using Ansible and Python
  • Reduce manual effort and operational errors by automating repetitive tasks
  • Optimize infrastructure-related process flows and operational workflows
  • Integrate automation solutions with the Common Data Backbone
  • Develop and maintain Python and Ansible-based tools and scripts
  • Continuously improve and extend automation capabilities based on evolving infrastructure needs
  • Collaborate closely with infrastructure and engineering teams

Requirements

  • Background in System Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or Automation
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (mandatory), Jenkins, and Docker
  • Solid scripting skills in Python (mandatory)
  • Bash is a plus
  • Experience automating on-prem infrastructure environments
  • Understanding of infrastructure lifecycle, configuration management, and operational processes
  • Ability to analyze and automate complex workflows
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus)

Nice to have

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, etc.)
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts
  • Basic knowledge of containers (nice-to-have, not core)
