The Information Technology (IT) Release Manager III is a strategic leader and subject matter expert responsible for the end-to-end management of IT change control, and software releases across multiple environments. This position oversees the planning, scheduling, and deployment of software releases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project timelines. The Release Manager III develops and maintains comprehensive release documentation and metrics, driving continuous improvement in release practices through data-driven insights and analysis of key performance indicators (KPI). This position involves proactive risk management, ensuring potential issues are identified and addressed promptly. As a leader and mentor, the Release Manager III guides junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. By aligning release activities with strategic objectives, this position plays a critical role in driving the success and growth of the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as a subject matter expert in release management processes
Develop and maintain comprehensive release calendars, plans, and documentation
Create and oversee KPIs and metrics
Drive the implementation of change management principles and practices
Set strategic release policies and improve processes
Oversee the use of configuration management tools and practices
Lead the implementation and management of CI/CD pipelines
Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with software releases
Guide the development and implementation of quality assurance practices
Utilize project management methodologies and tools
Lead and mentor the release management team
Contribute to strategic planning
Identify root causes of issues, develop innovative solutions, and drive process improvements
Applies subject expertise in evaluating business operations and processes
Provides training, recommends process improvements, and mentors junior level staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Related Field
At least 6 years of experience in strategic release planning and execution
At least 6 years of experience managing release plans
At least 6 years of experience in process optimization
At least 6 years of experience implementing best practices and tools
At least 6 years of experience in stakeholder communication
Experience in risk management
Experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines
Experience in leading teams
Expert in planning, coordinating, and deploying software releases
Proficiency in assessing impacts and managing change requests
Knowledge of tools and practices for managing configuration items
Strong communication skills
Ability to identify and mitigate risks
Understanding of testing strategies and practices
Proficiency in methodologies and tools to plan, track, and manage release activities
Skills in aligning release activities with organizational goals
Strong analytical skills
Deep understanding of release processes, change management, and CI/CD practices
Scrum Master or ITIL - Intermediate certification (Service Transition)
