In this customer-facing, team-oriented position, the ISSE will support the Sponsor's organization responsible for coordinating security internet capabilities to support the mission. This includes performing IT security engineering support across the Sponsor's program.
Job Responsibility:
Research, assess, evaluate, and analyze digital network information
Use traffic analysis to identify communication patterns
Develop and implement methods to capture activity trends and document baselines of normal system activity
Review threat activities to identify potential intelligence information by correlating events and activities to reveal patterns
Identify and analyze waveforms in different domains
Identify and analyze bitstreams
Identify and analyze protocols
Conduct network intelligence analysis
Collaborate with peers and senior-level management
Work with analysts across the Sponsor's organization and other Intelligence Community (IC) partners
Participate in customer-facing meetings to review operational status
Requirements:
Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline. BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
Experience analyzing systems, including forensic analysis for malware, misuse, and/or unauthorized activity
Experience investigating and analyzing data sources, which may include the Internet, Intelligence Community reporting, security events, firewall logs, and forensic hard-drive images to identify malware, misuse, unauthorized activity, or other cybersecurity-related concerns
Knowledge of computing design concepts and implementation
Experience with network defense monitoring tools and systems
Experience conveying technical information to non-technical individuals
Experience creating complex system designs, resolving engineering problems, and proposing preventive strategies in a dynamic and challenging environment
Possess a current security certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Government Security Engineer Certification (GSEC)
