Amentum is seeking experienced Information Operations Planners to support U.S. Government clients. The role involves advising, coordinating, planning, and assisting in all aspects of Information Operations planning and analysis, in support of Combatant Command operations within the Information Environment.
Job Responsibility:
Apply a targeting-like methodology to information and strategic communications planning from the identification of desired effects, through execution and assessment
Manage the command’s integrated strategic communications process, coordinating with a broad range of stakeholders, and aligning information forces and activities to the campaign plan
Advise on the nuances between traditional fires/targeting and a cognitive-focused targeting-like process
Advise and educate core information planners and information forces on the targeting-like methodology needed to achieve strategic objectives in the information environment
Provide expert mission analysis, analytic problem solving, and assessment skills, to inform and recommend the creative employment of information forces and information related capabilities
Support the development of innovative concepts to counter adversarial use of mis-information, dis-information, and propaganda
Develop and support plans and concepts that integrate and synchronize joint information capabilities to leverage the inherent informational aspects of joint force activities within the theater
Conduct target audience analysis and open-source research to establish baselines for future campaign and operational assessments
Conduct assessment of information activities and OIE
Identify and track measures of performance through attainment of measures of effectiveness
Support broad spectrum strategic communications planning with J39/IO, COMMSTRAT, PAO, and other stakeholders
Advise and support planning of information operations (IO), military deception (MILDEC), public affairs (PAO), key leader engagements (KLE), civil affairs (CA), communication strategy (COMMSTRAT) operations security (OPSEC), Cyberspace Operations, and other cognitive-focused information activities
Demonstrate expertise in oral, visual, & written communications and briefing techniques
Demonstrate the ability to advise, negotiate and persuade gaining acceptance of recommended concepts, ideas, guidance, policies and regulations
Requirements:
Active Top-Secret security clearance and SCI eligible
US Citizenship required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance
Minimum of 8 years of planning experience with BS/BA, minimum of 6 years with MS/MA
May consider an additional four years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
Expertise in joint targeting, operational planning process, military decision-making process, and military campaign plan planning
Knowledge of developing and accessing tactical and operational level OIE plans and orders
Minimum of 5 years of experience with non-lethal targeting at the service or joint level in support of operations at Combatant Commands or Joint Task Forces
Knowledge of service departments (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force) functions and their relationships to COCOM to coordinate OIE in appropriate channels
Experience with joint and/or combined military operations and interagency coordination
Knowledge of DoD, Joint, and Army service doctrine, regulations, and policies
Experience with integrating, coordinating, and synchronizing adjacent and supporting operations
Experience developing support for related capabilities and their activities
Familiarity, certification, or applicable operational/field time experience in one or more of the following: Psychological Operations, Public Affairs, Civil Affairs, COMMSTRAT, OPSEC
Ability to work effectively within a task organized working group(s)
Adept at developing and utilizing information products that leverage current and emerging technologies to inform planning, improve coordination, and enable timely decisions
Nice to have:
Relevant information operations training such as: Joint information operations planner course, Defense OPSEC planner course, MISO planners course, MILDEC planners course, Irregular warfare course, Joint targeting school graduate
Experience as a non-lethal targeting officer at COCOM, TSOC, or other strategic command
Expertise in planning, integrating, and coordinating with interagency and intelligence community entities
Must demonstrate creative thinking and ability to learn new skills
